East Killara Medical Practice is a private billing practice. Fees are set in accordance with AMA guidelines and reflect the time spent, the number and complexity of issues discussed during consultation with your doctor. Please speak to our receptionists before making an appointment if you are unsure about potential charges.

Telehealth Consultations
They are time-based, with fees equivalent to those for face-to-face consultations as outlined above. The total billed time includes the telephone consultation, subsequent clinical processing, and completion of required medical records.
The receptionist will contact you for payment after consultation on doctor's instruction.
No Email Consultation
There is no email consultation under Medicare. East Killara Medical Practice does not provide such services. Please do not send emails to the Practice for medical matters that require the doctor's consultative services.
Prescriptions and Referrals
No more than 2 medications or 2 referrals.
A fee of $32 applies.
Please allow 3 working days to process.
Prescriptions without consultation will only be given if the medication was prescribed by a doctor at this practice and you have been seen by one of the doctors in the last 6 months.
Medical certificate and Referrals cannot be backdated.
The receptionist will contact you for payment after consultation on doctor's instruction.
Procedure Fees
A procedure fee applies for surgeries (eg. skin cancer surgery, ingrown toenail surgery, foreign body removal including manual removal of ear wax, laceration repairs and implanon insertion/removal, iron infusion, joint injections etc). This fee varies depending on the size of and the time taking to perform the procedure. This fee is non-rebatable.
Home Visits
A fee covering doctor's costs associated with travelling and on road insurance is payable for home visits depending on the distance. This fee is non-rebatable.
Vaccinations (non-scheduled), in-office tests and dressings incur an additional charge.
Bulk billing only apply to:
- DVA Card holders
- Children under 12 years old.
- A reduced fee for children between 12-16
- Nursing home residents
- Health Assessments (over 75 year health checks)
- Chronic disease management plan
We respectfully ask that all accounts be settled on the day of consultation.
