East Killara Medical Practice is a private billing practice. Fees are set in accordance with AMA guidelines and reflect the time spent, the number and complexity of issues discussed during consultation with your doctor. The fees are reviewed annually and next review will be 1 July 2023.

Standard consultation (<20 minutes) $75 $39.10
Long consultation (>=20 minutes) $115 $75.75
Extended consultation (>=40 minutes) $165 $111.50
Different fees apply to after-hour consultations (Saturday after 1pm and Public Holidays).

They are completed outside of doctor's normal consultating hours. They may be given as long as this is in your best interest (such as maintenance treatment of long-standing conditions). Prescriptions without consultation will only be given if the medication was prescribed by a doctor at this practice and you have been seen by one of the doctors in the last 3 months. We do not routinely fax the referrals to the specialist and the referral or medical certificate can not be backdated.

Procedure Fee
A procedure fee applies for surgeries (eg. skin cancer surgery, ingrown toenail surgery, foreign body removal including manual removal of ear wax, laceration repairs and implanon insertion/removal, iron infusion, joint injections etc). This fee varies depending on the size of and the time taking to perform the procedure. Please check with your doctor or our receptionist prior to your procedure or treatment if concerned.
Home visits
A fee is payable for home visits depending on the distance the doctor travels. This fee may vary depending on the distance the doctor needs to travel.
Vaccinations (non-scheduled), in-office tests and dressings incur an additional charge.
Bulk billing
- DVA Card holders
- Children under 12 years. A reduced fee for children between 12-16.
- Health Assessments (45-49 year, over 75 year health checks)
- Chronic disease management plan
- Some Pension Card holders at the discretion of the treating doctor
- Nursing home residents
We kindly ask that all accounts be settled on the day of consultation.
